Hi, I’m Grażyna but most people call me Grace.
So far, like most people, I have led a quiet, happy, and stable life with my husband Tomasz and our son Mateusz. We moved to the UK from Poland over 11 years ago and made our permanent home here in Batley - a small town in West Yorkshire.
Things were going well until, almost three years ago, my husband was diagnosed with leukaemia, which turned our whole lives upside down. It was a massive turning point for us regarding our family stability, mental and physical health, and diet.
When Tomasz returned home and began his recovery, we put a lot of emphasis on changing our diet to help Tomasz recover and protect the rest of the family against the effects of not-so-healthy eating. We began to pay special attention to the quality of products, their origin, and their composition. Sadly, we learned that the products that seemed to be healthy were not like that at all. So, as cooking is my passion, we decided to get around this by making as many healthy, homemade products as possible ourselves.
And, as our hearts belong to West Yorkshire I wanted to find a local product that had something in common with Polish cuisine. Curd turned out to be such a product, but fresh (raw) milk is needed to produce it naturally. This led me to Red Lodge Farm, only four miles away from us, which sells high-quality unpasteurised raw milk.
After a relatively short time, I found a new friendship and a mutual love for dairy products. From this friendship, lots of research, and a great deal of trial and error, our unique locally produced yogurt was created.
And this is just the beginning…..
